In a more extensive interview with Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin told the Los Angeles Times:
"Once the series resumes production, there will be a lot of important questions regarding the second season, such as who will play Abby, Ellie's new rival character." In season two, Abby is Ellie's main target in one of the darkest revenge plots ever written. Abby isn't a one-note "villain" either. Like the best characters in this post-apocalyptic universe, he is a complex, tragic and relatable human being, despite what some players will tell you online. That means Bella Ramsey and whoever plays Abby will have a lot of rich material to work with.
When is “The Last of Us” season 2 released?
