'Freelance' is an action comedy with no action or solid comedy

From Pierre Morel, director of Taken, From Paris with Love, and the truly brutal Peppermint, Freelance continues the trend of bland action movies bland and ordinary.. Freelancing seems cheap, and even though this movie puts Cena, Brie, and Raba on a chase for their lives across Paldonia, it still looks like it was shot against backdrops and green screens.. The action is never exciting, the jokes never end and the pacing is all over the place.. Freelance took a ridiculous amount of time to get going, as he ran through Cena's Mason complaining about where his life was before losing us in Paldonia.. Morel never tries to make it the great adventure  it was intended to be..  But writer Jacob Lentz is also largely to blame for this disaster, with weird pacing, terrible humor, and an overly convoluted narrative that heads into some extremely questionable territory.. Freelance fundamentally feels like an amalgamation of several different ideas, none of which amount to much at all.. It be

In just a few weeks we'll see Squealer, the new horror thriller based on horrifying real events. To help us understand the story better, Lionsgate shared  an exclusive clip with Collider that sheds light on just how terrifying the new  pigs can be. We can now reveal this disturbing preview and remind you that the film is due out in early November. The fact that this happened in real life makes it pretty scary, but the

Emma Stone Is Going on a Horrifying, Bizarre Journey in New 'Poor Things' Trailer

The more scenes of Poor Things we see, the less we seem to understand about Emma Stone's (Cruella) new movie. Of course, this is great because it suggests we could be in for one of the big surprises of the year. In case you're even more confused, today Searchlight Pictures released  a new trailer that sheds a little more light on what we can expect to see in theaters this December.  One thing  we can infer from the new  Poor Things trailer is that Stone's adventures as Bella Baxter will be a strange story that mixes fairy tale elements, absurdist imagery and a little Horror manifests itself primarily in the form of film allusions. to Frankenstein. In the story, Bella was created by a scientist and became so curious about the world that she decided to explore it.  It's no surprise that Poor Things went down a strange path, as Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos is world-famous for creating wildly original, often absurd and sometimes downright disturbing stories. shock. Matthew Vaughn's 'The King's Man' Sequel, 'The Traitor King', Will Confront Hitler's Rise

The King's Man brought a new perspective to Matthew Vaughn's spy series when it debuted in 2021, showing audiences how the secret organization tasked with protecting the world was founded. The deep bond between a man and his son is at the heart of the agency's first steps. York Comic-Con. The filmmaker revealed that he had different plans for the prequel before being convinced to adapt it into a film:  "The King's Man was originally intended to be a television series and I was persuaded to turn it into a film. What we wanted to do was something like 'The Crown,' but with a twist." message and a minor success for Kingsman throughout the series' decades." ."  The prequel follows Orlando (Ralph Fiennes), an aristocrat tasked

Every live-action 'Star Wars' movie, ranked by rewatchability

Since its debut in 1977, Star Wars has been one of the biggest and most beloved movie franchises. George Lucas' impressive universe has continued to grow over the decades to include television series, animated films, video games, comic books and, of course, 11 live-action feature films.  With a story spanning six  decades of filmmaking ranging from the classic original trilogy to spin-offs of the Skywalker saga, the Star Wars films have always inspired passion in fans. However, not every feature film in the franchise turns out to be a  gem, and there are some Star Wars movies that people can't wait to see again, and some that leave audiences thinking that once was  enough.  'Star Wars:The Rise of Skywalker' (2019) The sequel trilogy had a disappointing ending, Star War: The Rise of Skywalker struggles to find its own path while resisting  ideas introduced in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. If the film has some very good elements – great visual effects  and  performances fro

Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White wrestle Legacy in 'The Iron Claw' trailer

Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White grapple with tragedy, legacy and history in the first trailer for A24's The Iron Claw,  released today. This movie is a true story revolving around the Von Erich family, a legendary wrestling dynasty. Their lives and careers were filled with remarkable successes but also heartbreaking tragedies. The Von Erichs' journey, often compared to that of the Kennedy  professional wrestling family, earned them a cursed reputation  due to the many trials they endured over the years.  At this time, Kevin, Efron's character  in the film, is the only surviving member of this generation. Kevin Von Erich  expressed  admiration for Efron's commitment, noting that he appeared to have put considerable effort into the film. He  also discussed the film's progress with director Sean Durkin.  The Iron Claw also stars Lily James, who recently appeared in Pam and Tommy, along with Harris Dickinson, who recently starred in Where the Crawdads Sing. “Daredevil: Born Again has apparently confirmed rumors about Kirsten McDuffie

Even as the multiverse threatens to split in two when Marvel's Loki hits screens, it seems things are  as chaotic as ever for the heroes on the ground. Slated for release on Disney+  in 2025, Daredevil: Born Again, the sequel series that brings back everyone's favorite Devil from Hell's Kitchen, has fans  excited despite being delayed due to the ongoing SAG strike. Viewers of the Netflix series, of which Born Again serves as a sequel, have been asking for  information about the series and it appears that some recently filed copyright documents for the  first episode of the series have given gives us a pretty important hint about the plot. of the series.  The file contains all the usual suspects that were previously announced: Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock, along with Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk, Sandrine Holt (replacing Ayelet Zurer) as Vanessa Fisk, and Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle. However, it also gives us  new information about a previously announced cast

Review of “Killer”: David Fincher applies his style to a dull plot

There is  no doubt that David Fincher is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. Se7en is an all-time murder mystery thriller, Gone Girl is an adaptation that captures the brilliance of the source material and more, and Zodiac might just be the ultimate serial killer movie . That's right, Fincher is flying high and has become a master of  Hollywood thrillers. But when you fly that high, so do expectations. The Killer, his second work with Netflix, is certainly one of the most anticipated films of the year. This is partly due to its lead role, crowd-pleasing plot, and promise of action and violence (you know, the stuff people love to see on the big screen). But there's only one thing you really need to say to get someone interested: “He's the new Fincher.” If The Killer taught us anything, it's that any director, no matter how legendary, can fall victim to a bad script. While Fincher's iconic style permeates the two-hour runtime, it's impossible to ignore the

Ahsoka season 2 will be in development soon

Last night saw the end of Season 1 of Ahsoka, but now it looks like the series has more gas  than being a limited series, as Dave Filoni continues to build out the stories around his favorite characters from Star's classic cartoons. War. Filoni's world-building began with The Mandalorian and expanded outward into a vast, sprawling, and admittedly messy story that now spans at least three different series, including the aforementioned duo along with The Book of Boba Fett.  We know  Filoni has big plans for his "Mandoverse" storyline, which has been tied together through the various shows he's been working on with  Jon Favreau and Rick Fawuyiwa  for a few years now, with a grand finale said to be a feature-length film, directed by Filoni. himself, and Ahsoka's conclusion is open-ended, even definitive, with Rosario Dawson's protagonist stranded in another galaxy alongside Natasha Liu Bordizzo's Sabine Wren.  Interestingly, it looks like Ahsoka's seco
