Originally scheduled to return to Arrakis this fall, it was announced that House Atreides' continued revenge on its enemies, House Harkonnen, will continue in Dune:
Part two will have to wait until March 2024. Warner Bros., in clearly disappointing news, decided in August to push forward with Denis Villeneuve's sequel in response to the WGA and SAG strikes -AFTRA at the time. However, it offers an opportunity for those unfamiliar with the ongoing intergalactic war to familiarize themselves with the situation by watching Dune, the first part of the story directed by Villeneuve.

Streaming giant Netflix has announced that the series will be available on the platform on October 1. Dune previously aired on HBO Max, however, with the decision to land on Netflix, this is certain would expand the Empire's reach while also drawing people to Arrakis as the quest for spice continued. This move could prove to be a breakthrough in the long run as there is a chance of increased appeal when the sequel hits theaters in six months.
Based on the original book by Frank Herbert, Dune shows a dark reality where single families rule planets serving a single emperor. As the growing power of House Atreides began to concern the Emperor, the ruler of the Empire, combined with House Harkonnen, witnessed the fall of House Atreides. However, despite his best efforts, Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) survived and will now team up with the Fremen to destroy all of their enemies in an epic war.
